🤓What the HECK is MICROCOPY?🤓

You may not have heard of microcopy, but it is 100% affecting your business.

Crazy right? Okay, so microcopy refers to those little tiny words and phrases you use in your calls to action, and elsewhere on your website. It can be one word, or a quick sentence, but microcopy's purpose is to guide users through your page and get them to take an action.

You likely have some microcopy on your website, in your e-newsletter, or on your social media even if you've never heard that term. Things like, "Click here," "Book your free consultation," "DM for pricing," "Join my email list," are all examples of microcopy.

So why does this matter? Because making tiny tweaks to your microcopy can lead to big increases in your sales. Sometimes changing your wording from "Request pricing," to "Request a quote" can lead to a huge jump in clicks.

Another common issue with microcopy is using cutesy or jokey language in your calls to action.

While it may be adorable or funny, it can also confuse people and hurt your conversion rate. So a button that says, "Say howdy," probably won't get as many clicks as one that simply says, "Contact me." That's why it's so important to pay attention to your microcopy. If something's not working, it could literally just be a matter of tweaking two or three words on your sales or contact page, or in your Instagram bio.
