Increasing the completion rate for Logitech Room Configurator
I led the UX copy refresh of Room Configurator, Logitech’s online meeting room configuration quiz.
Users kept exiting the quiz before completing it, which meant we were missing out on a chance to connect them with a sales rep. Read the highlights below or see the full project at the bottom of the page.
Overview
The product: Room Configurator, a web-based quiz that guides users in choosing which B2B Logitech products are necessary to set up their conference room(s).
The audience: IT decision-makers.
The goal: Increase the completion rate for Room Configurator by adding clarity and shortening the length.
Collaborators and stakeholders: Content manager, UX designer, graphic designer
Process
Analyze the data: My manager brought me stats showing that a growing number of users were leaving Room Configurator unfinished. I analyzed which steps were causing friction.
Identify key UX principles: I chose to reduce the number of questions, add clarity to help manage expectations, and bring the copy in line with Logitech’s brand voice (friendly and helpful vs. clinical).
Connect with collaborators: I briefed our UX and graphic designers on the project and timeline so they could plan for their updates. We made sure my copy updates worked well with the space available.
Revamp the copy and flow: I wrote the new copy, reduced the page count, and coordinated with my collaborators, and submitted for review. After a quick round of edits, we were ready to publish ahead of deadline.
Results
The updated version of the Room Configurator was a success, resulting in a ~20% higher completion rate.
Marketing director reported an increase in qualified leads for our sales team.
